Mine action impacts 16 of the 17 sustainable development goals. Improved equipment is required in conflict and post-conflict communities to clear land rapidly, safely, and efficiently. This will enable the land to become productive and help to enhance the living standards of the most vulnerable communities worldwide.

Landmines remain a global problem with over 60 states contaminated by anti-personnel mines. Despite the adoption of the Mine Ban Treaty by 83% of the world they continue to be used by countries and non-state groups around the world. Current clearance rates (133 km2 in 2021) are struggling to meet clearance objectives.
