The visit was part of MRead’s continuing development of our sensor technology so that we can deploy it to support humanitarian deminers globally. The Rurex and MRead collaboration aims to develop non-explosive materials that can be certified and licensed for transport both within Australia and globally.

Rurex, an Australian company, brings a unique understanding of the challenges of handling explosives and dangerous goods. Their expertise and purpose-built facilities provided us with comprehensive solutions that prioritised safety, compliance, and efficiency while meeting stringent legislated safety requirements and enabling the development of new capabilities.

The visit and detailed discussions gave us firsthand insights into the challenges and complexities we face in this area. It was a pleasure to work with the Rurex team and we are deeply grateful to Ryan Esam, Peter Novella and Jim Purssey who generously shared their time and experience with us. Their knowledge of this difficult environment is central to our own capabilities. It is genuinely exciting to be right at the leading edge of technology as we work towards helping the humanitarian deminers and the shattered communities in these war-torn environments.

After this initial highly successful visit, we are eagerly looking forward to the next phase of our partnership with Rurex in the coming months, further solidifying our commitment to our shared goals.
